Minister Raitt Congratulates CN and Teamsters Canada on New Agreement

OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/27/12 -- Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, congratulated the Canadian National Railway Co. (CN) and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference for successfully reaching a new collective agreement.

"I am very pleased that CN and Teamsters Canada have reached a negotiated agreement without interruption to services," said Minister Raitt. "Strong labour-management relations benefit our country's economic prosperity and the economic security of Canadians."

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference represents approximately 1 800 locomotive engineers at CN. The new collective agreement, valid for a duration of three years, replaces the previous agreement that expired on December 31, 2011.
